The swamp is in the Town of Bergen, which is in the northeastern part of Genesee County. Going east on NY # 262, turn left on Hessenthaler Road and go .9 miles to the end of the road. Feet and even legs may get wet and muddy. Moderate pace, but we will slow down in mucky spots. The Bergen Swamp Preservation Society considers the swamp a fragile ecosystem.
